4 months old

I have a 4 month old now.  I cannot believe it has been that long.

Early morning, before work.

Seems to like her jumper, but can't figure her feet out yet.

1st home show at the Fargo Dome

Oh cereal

having a talk with daddy

1. Helen has officially found her toes.  She holds them all the time when she's laying on the floor.

2.  Loves cereal.  That stuff gets everywhere!

3.  Loves getting her nose sucked with the bulb syringe.  She thinks it is hilarious and laughs like crazy.

4.  Does not like tummy time.  Will tolerate it for a little bit if we pull her over from her back.  Screams if she just lay her down on her tummy.

5.  Wearing 6 month and 9 month clothes.  Still in Size 1 diapers.  What a skinny little girl.

6. Sleeps through the night about 50% of the time.

7.  Sleeps in her crib at night, but doesn't like to nap there.

8.  Smiles and laughs more and more every day.

9.  Likes to stand and sit up straight.  If fussy, it usually works to walk around and look around.

10.  Talks all the time.  Lays in her crib in the morning for about 30 minutes, just talking.  Super cute to listen to over the baby monitor.

11.  Sucks her thumb or fingers all the time.

My 2 year old.

Somebody had a birthday this past week.  I can't believe he's already 2.  It doesn't seem like Murphy has been with us for that long.  I'm so glad that we got him a good length of time before we had a baby.  He taught us a lot of patience, but we love him!  Right now, I think his best trick is that he knows what toys are his and what toys are Helen's.  yay!!!

Hanging out with his best puppy friend, Jack.  1st birthday

always up for anything, especially if it means he gets to sneak into my hair appointments

80's style brass lamp

Now that we have a baby in the house, being frugal has taken on a whole new meaning.  About 6 years ago, I received 2 brass lamps from my grandparents.  They weren't using them anymore and I was in the middle of being a poor college student.  I jumped at the opportunity of free things for my apartment.  Well, they served their purpose, but but they just weren't cute.

Here is the original lamp with a new lampshade.  I had it like this for quite sometime.  There's just something a little......shiny.......about that lamp.

After wandering around Walmart one day (Mike was in the hunting section), I found this product that promised me a new lamp!

I think it was around $6 or so.  Definetly cheaper then 2 new lamps.

Mike wasn't impressed that I was using spray paint in the basement.  It surprisingly wasn't too stinky. Where else are you supposed to do stuff like this in January, in North Dakota?

I sprayed 2 coats after I sanded the lamps a bit.  It covered great!  I was beyond excited.  My projects don't usually work out like promised.

The finished project!  Not too shabby.  Now I just need a shade for the 2nd one.  Go crafty me! :)
