3 months!

Stretching out those long legs

We have a 3 month old baby and time has really flown by.  Just looking back at her 2 month pictures makes me realize how big she is now.

1. Loves to sit in her Bumbo chair and look around.

2.  Has started to take interest in the TV.  Likes shows that have a lot of music.  We are slowly watching Happy Feet 2.

3. She fits perfectly in 6 month clothing and is comfortable in 9 month sleepers.  Her legs are so long!

4.  Has quit consistenly sleeping through the night.  We think she's going through a crazy growth spurt.  If she does wake up during the night, she gets up, drinks almost 6 ounces, and then goes back to sleep.

5.  Goes to bed around 830pm, right after her bath.

6.  Still sleeping in rock n play in mom and dad's room.

7.  Loves car rides and shopping. 

8.  Has been nice to mommy and takes long naps before she works a night shift.

9.  Talks all the time. 

10.  Laughs a lot for mommy and daddy.  Is full of smiles.

11.  Continues to have a special hatred for tummy time.  She is able to hold her head up when she wants to. 

12.  We all went on our first trip for 3 nights.  We went to Grandma and Grandpa Martel's and visited Grandma and Grandpa Fandrich's.  Helen was a trooper.  She was super comfortable because mommy and daddy packed anything she has ever showed interest in and barely had room to get into the car themselves.  She had a GREAT Christmas.

13.  Started going to daycare 2 weeks ago.  She seems to like it because she doesn't nap much while there.  I think she is too busy watching everyone. 

back to work i go........

I absolutely cannot believe it has already been 12 weeks.  The first half of my maternity leave seemed to be never ending.  I think that was the complete lack of sleep.  Now that we have more of a routine, I'm still tired, but I know when I can look forward to a nap. 

Today was the first day Mike and I went out without the baby.  I was just to get see a movie and our friend Amanda watched her for us.  I was nice to just worry about the two of us for a little bit.  We were both excited to see Helen when we picked her up though. 

This week, Helen starts daycare.  I am excited that we found one in town that is a small, certified, home daycare.  I'm sad that somebody else gets to spend the day with her, seeing all the cute things she does.  I'm selfish like that.  I'm thankful that she only has to go for 25 hours a week.  It ends up being 2 1/2 days.  That sounds better than 5 days a week and it's cheaper!

Helen has been working on sitting and strengthening. What a little exerciser! She has been doing quite well.

My hair is getting soooooo long

First pedicure

2 months old

I can't believe Helen is 2 months old already.

1.  Loves to lay down and look around at her surroundings.

2.  Wears 3 month clothing and fits in 6 month footie pajamas

3. Sleeps between 6 and 11 hours at a time at night.  Usually it is around 9 or 10.

4.  Bedtime around 9pm.

5.  Really likes bathtime.

6.  Sleeps in rock n play next to mom and dad's bed.

7. Continues to have a special hatred for tummy time.

8. Likes to play pat-a-cake with her feet, be read to, and stand up with assistance.

9. Smiles the most in the mornings and right after napping.

10. Likes to carry on conversations by cooing and making different facial expressions.

11.  Follows people with her eyes.

12. Looks bald, but actually has blonde hair that is about 1/4 inch long.

13. Drinks about 30oz of formula a day.

14.  Has discovered that she has a tongue and likes to stick it out.

15. On December 28, she weighed 11 pounds 11 ounces (75%) and was 24 1/4 inches (97%) Dr. Radke said she's going to be a tall skinny little girl.

Helen really looks like she's going to be a tall little girl. She is already getting too tall for some of her 6 month sleepers.

A Doggy Christmas

Murphy has been feeling a little left out lately. I wanted to make sure that he feels like I still go out if my way to cause him to be embarrassed. Which photo do you like the best? Too bad it's too late to send out a Christmas card.

This needs to continue!

Helen slept for 11 hours again last night!  I am so excited :)
