Lawn

Apparently mowing the lawn is incredibly entertaining.  Helen and Murphy spent a long time watching Mike.  It was so nice out on Wednesday.  At least we all got outside :)

Everyone says

Everyone says, "they grow up so fast."  Wow were they right!  Helen turned 11 months old this week.  It honestly seems like she was just a tiny baby, learning how to roll over on the floor.  Well, here we are, almost walking.  

1.  Helen waves "bye, bye"

2.  She talks all the time.  She can be quiet and sweet and and super loud.  She likes to say mamamamama, dadadadadada, babababababa, or just aaaaggggghhhhhhh!!!!

3.  OMG she already has 6 teeth!  

4.  Sometimes, when she doesn't realize it, she stands up in the middle of the room.  Once she notices what is going on, she sits.  I think she secretly walks, late at night, in her crib.  

5.  I'm still loving the fact that she naps 2-3 times a day.  Everyone tells me that it doesn't last long.   

6.  She constantly is challenging us.  When she gets into something she knows she shouldn't be in, she turns back and looks at us with a sweet little smile.  Oh no.

7.  Started to clap her hands!

8.  Helen plays fetch with Murphy.  Usually, she just tries to hand him the ball.  Also, she shares her mum mums with him.  She takes a bite, then Murphy takes a bite.  :)

9.  Dancing is her favorite.  Whenever something has any sort of beat, she sways and sometimes starts singing.  

10.  We've been putting her on her potty before her bath, just so she's not afraid of it later on.  She's peed in it twice!  woo hoo!!!!  Hopefully, when the time comes to potty train, it goes well.

My baby is growing up

Helen has really shown me a lot in this past year or so.  I have learned to appreciate all the little things.  I'm not saying I'm perfect or anything.  We all get frustrated and sometimes just want a moment to ourselves.  This usually comes when it's 3am and I'm awake with a teething baby or it's 11pm and she won't go to sleep.  I have really come to realize how lucky I am that I have those times with her.  She's getting close to a year old and it already feels like she's growing so fast.  One of my friends, Megan,  recently told me Helen is losing her "baby" look.  What?!?!  She's still a baby :)  I suppose she's right.  I'm not really good with change, but I'm going to enjoy all the crazy little moments we have.

Shoes

I feel like my little baby is growing up so fast.  I honestly tried these shoes on her in the store and they fit.  Now, 2 weeks later they don't even go on. What???!!! Where has the time gone?

My goodness, she's already 10 months old!

1. Today, Helen weighs in at 19.1 pounds and is 29.5 inches tall.  Growing like a weed!

2. Wearing 9 and 12 month clothing.  Her biggest issue with clothing is that the long sleeves are sometimes not long enough.

3.  Helen is everywhere!  She crawls so incredibly fast, especially if she is going towards something she is not supposed to be getting into.

4.  She has tried all kinds of foods.  She has quit eating babyfood.  She wants nothing to do with a baby spoon.  She wants everything to do with the food mom and dad are eating.

5.  She has 4 total teeth now, 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

6.  We went to Helen's Great Aunt Marie's wedding in Bismarck.  She did pretty good.  We even danced a few dances.  There was a Holkup reunion that weekend too.

7.  A straw sippy cup seems to be the winner of all the sippy cups :)

9 months.........a couple weeks late

I am super behind on this one.  We need to catch up.

1. Helen has become so crazy mobile in her 8th month.  She is into EVERYTHING.  She walks along furniture.

2. We all survived Helen's first ear infection.  It was a tough month for sleep, but we all made it.

3.  She seems to have plateaued in size.  She hasn't changed sizes in anything recently.

4.  We went to the Fargo street fair.  Helen thought it was great, watching everybody.  She even got a nap in.

5.  Eats anything.  She likes just about everything.  I don't think there is any food that she doesn't like.

6.  Loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme song.  I don't know what it is about that darn Mickey, but she thinks he's great.

7.  Continues to love car and stroller rides.

Go Go Go.......

We have had big events at our house these past couple of weeks.  The biggest change for all of us, including the animals, is Helen's ability to crawl and pull up on furniture.  Just when things were starting to get easier............


It has definetly taught me to keep a cleaner house.  Before she could move, I just had to make sure the areas we put her were clean.  Now that she gets EVERYWHERE, we have to clean EVERYWHERE.

Helen is very happy for her new mobility.  She also likes to walk, holding onto hands.  Lets hold off on walking for awhile!
